How did Sell Retro form?

SellRetro.co.uk formed in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic. During this time, myself and a few friends decided to collaborate and make music together via video calls and play video games online in order to socialise the only way we could. This reinvigorated our love for all things musical and game-related.

When I personally made socially-distanced trips to the local recycling centre, I noticed many old vinyl records, cassettes, VHS and old games consoles being thrown into skips. These totally avoidable, heartbreaking occurrences made me realise these items could be saved in exchange for cash!

Once the UK lockdown ended, two of us agreed that we wanted to collect and preserve as many music items as possible, particularly as we both had children with neurological disorders (e.g. autism and ADHD) who each love music and the physical side of playing a retro console and listening to cassettes, CDs and vinyl records (with a little help from their dads).

We therefore collect not only for ourselves, but for our children too.

How does SellRetro.co.uk Operate?

We intend to find customers who have unwanted items of the past taking up space in their home. These can include records, tapes, games, coins and anything else from bygone eras!

Instead of people paying to have these items cleared, we want to save these items from landfills and put some money in the pockets of their former owners.

We aim to help you be both profitable and environmentally-friendly when clearing your unwanted items!

Not only that, but we actually listen to our customers. We are happy for to you tell us what YOU want for your items, rather than have you be told what they’re going to be paid for.

Once a deal has been agreed for your items via email or phone, we arrange free collection for our customers and provide payments either in cash or bank transfer.
